red82 is excited to announce the latest update to the Arbor Day Foundation’s What Tree is That? software. The Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree Identification Guide: What Tree Is That? is based upon their award winning field guide that has helped more than 200,000 people of all ages identify trees.
This release has the ability to publish the locations of identified trees to Twitter with a unique hashtag allowing them to be indexed. In the long term this will allow us to build a crowd-sourced tree census, whose data may some day be useful to researchers and amateur arborists alike.
Founded in 1972, the centennial of the first Arbor Day observance in the 19th century, the Arbor Day Foundation has grown to become the largest nonprofit membership organization dedicated to planting trees, with over one million members, supporters, and valued partners.
red82 is an iOS developer based in Orlando, FL. Our guiding principle is that software should be fast, functional and beautiful. And never crash.
Arbor Day Tree Identification Guide: What Tree is That? is available in iTunes.
